Industry News: Anti-SoR Practices Remain a Threat
In order for us to better serve our customers, we routinely gather and analyze information about current trends, future directions and industry hype. An important source of information comes from the root of the industry itself, our customers.
During recently held discussions with various operators, we learned that the use of Anti-SoR practices by some operators remains a major cause for concern.
It looks as though Anti-SoR practices have not been shelved, despite recent warnings that mobile operators may cancel roaming agreements with operators that employ these means. | Anti-SoR activities are causing mobile operators to lose both revenues and subscribers.
Anti-SoR practices block update location messages from reaching the SoR platform by using misleading signaling to deceive the SoR application, and it's nothing but bad news for unsuspecting operators.
But Starhome has some good news for its customers. The Starhome® Anti-SoR Detector™ solution continuously monitors traffic statistics to combat Anti-SoR attempts and safeguard operator revenue.
Don't let Anti-SoR activities diminish the effectiveness of your SoR application. For more information about our Anti-SoR Detector solution, visit our website.

Gateway Location Register - Update
Word on the street has it that the Gateway Location Register (GLR) is gathering quite an impressive amount of support among mobile operators.
The Gateway Location Register has been the topic of much recent discussion in the roaming community, resulting in an emerging consensus between mobile operators regarding its deployment.
Current market competition is forcing operators to look for revenue assurance by deploying solutions to | increase inbound roaming traffic and reduce network costs; the Gateway Location Register is a great place to start. Not only does GLR increase inbound roaming traffic and reduce roaming signaling costs, it complies with GSMA standard recommendations.
So, if you want to increase your inbound market share and revenues, maintain inbound roamers for longer and minimize HPMN steering attempts, what are you waiting for?
