Case Study: LUKOIL-INFORM Implements VocalTec Essentra™ Solutions

As the IT subsidiary for the Russian oil producing company, LUKOIL, LUKOIL INFORM is responsible for deploying and maintaining its parent company's internal telecommunications network across eight branches throughout the Ural Mountain region. With the desire to significantly improve communications with both company personnel and customers, as well as offer a range of hosted enterprise services, LUKOIL INFORM decided to base their infrastructure on a VoIP solution. The Outsmart assets acquired by VocalTec included Outsmart's technology and intellectual property, as well as its primary customer and partner contracts. The engagement by VocalTec of certain Outsmart personnel is intended to enable the continued development and support and an uninterrupted transition to all Outsmart customers and partners.

Outsmart’s mobile VoIP and Intelligent Network products are a strategic addition to VocalTec’s existing portfolio of VoIP solutions. The combined portfolio positions VocalTec as a provider of VoIP solutions and applications to both fixed line and mobile service providers.

PR: Russian-based Far East Telecom Selects VocalTec for its Large-scale Class-5 Network

Far East Telecom is transforming its network to a core IP network. This deployment represents the first stage of Far East Telecom’s migration plan, including the deployment of VocalTec’s Essentra Class-5 and Class-4 VoIP solutions across five distributed locations with initial support for tens of thousands of subscribers. The project will provide for a seamless transition and will enable Far East Telecom to offer a wide range of innovative subscriber services, as well as efficiently managing the interconnection to its existing traditional telephony network.
